How to Fix These Windows 7 Problems



We all like Windows 7, because it is not only faster than the Windows vista but also really offers interesting features and many useful tools. If you are a frequent windows user but recently have been switched from windows vista to windows 7, then might have noticed such common problems i.e. upgrade problems, interface problems etc. 

If you are experiencing these problems then do not be annoyed, these problems are pretty common and have pretty easy solution, so just follow the tips and guidelines listed below to make your laptop get back on the track.



Tips and Guidelines –

Upgrade hangs at 62% –
 
Even while upgrading to the windows 7 operating system, sometimes the upgrade hangs at 62%, which is really frustrating. However, rebooting will not solve this hassle, you require to open the setup log file \$WINDOWS. BT\Sources\Panther\setupact.log to view the problem. According to Microsoft, the cause of the problem is Iphlpsvc service which stops responding, but addition of an environment variable can fix this issue.

DVD Drive not found –

In some cases, the laptop unable to detect the ‘DVD drive’ even though it is being visible in BIOS. And to fix this kind of problem, here is what all you need to do –type the regedit in the run window and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, and delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters in the right-hand pane and you are done!
If the above process does not work, then click Start, type Disk Management and choose "Create and format hard disk partitions" link. Right click on the optional driver and change drive letter and paths and click on change. After that simply reboot your laptop and it should now appear.

Aero theme not working -

Sometimes the Aero theme does not seem to be working on windows 7. If it is your case, then click on the start button and type Aero and choose the "Find and fix problems with transparency and other visual effects" link. An Aero troubleshooting wizard dialog box will appear. Click on the next button to identify and resolve the problem.

If the above steps do not work, you can better then install the latest driver for the graphics hardware to solve this issue.
